When you need quality, factual resources appropriate for a college assignment, try CREDO Reference.

CREDO Reference includes millions of entries from over 775 well-regarded “real” reference books from some of the world’s best publishers. CREDO is integrated with millions of cross-references and contains dictionaries, bilingual dictionaries, thesauri, encyclopedias, quotations and atlases, plus a wide range of subject-specific titles covering everything from art to accountancy, science to Shakespeare and law to literature.

Find CREDO Reference in the list of GRCC Databases.  Individual CREDO titles are also cataloged into RaiderSearch Catalog so you can connect to “the good stuff” in several ways. Many faculty are dropping permalinks to CREDO titles into Blackboard too.

The Three Little Pigs meet Loki on Mt. Olympus

With the Grand River Winds Community Ensemble having a mythology based performance tonight at St. Cecilia Music Center, it may be a great time to introduce the collection of mythology materials found in the library and online. Robert Graves, Joseph Campbell, and Edith Hamilton are all excellent writers on mythology with numerous books found in our library.

In addition, check out the books below on fables, fairy tales, and myths to find your new favorite. Enjoy!

Library Journal’s top rated databases

In recent months, a group of choice librarians and Library Journal reviewers were selected to evaluate databases which exist today for library use. In the end, the finalists were placed in specific categories, highlighting numerous resources of which several can be found right here at your GRCC Library. Below are the databases that made the “Top Database List” in their respective categories and they are available for access right now (requires RaiderLogin off campus):

Want to link quality periodical articles, e-books and streaming media into your Blackboard? View the March 2011 updated illustrated instructions to learn how to create permanent links from over 30 library resources.  The March 2011 version includes linking instructions for CREDO Reference e-Books and reference entries and Books@Ovid e-Books.  The document is attached.
