Semester-End Library Returns

Book drop

Please return library BOOKS in the blue book drop outside the Library Lobby plaza entrance on Ransom Ave. Books will NOT be automatically renewed. Please return them by – or before – their due date.

The GRCC Library building is currently open by appointment-only for returns of technology items.  See the [Virtual Services Subject Guide] box for details on making an appointment.

If you currently have any TECHNOLOGY (laptop, hotspot, webcam, headset, etc.) checked out and:

  • are registered for the Winter 2021 Semester, respond to Cynthia Brown’s email or text that you still need it and we will check the technology out to you for the Winter semester.
  • are NOT registered for the Winter 2021 semester, contact Cynthia Browne to set up an appointment to return the technology so that another student can check it out.
  • and no longer need the laptop, hotspot, etc., contact Cynthia Browne to set up an appointment to return the technology so that another student can check it out.

Winter Semester 2021 technology checkouts will commence on January 4, 2021.

Update: Alexander Street Press Streaming Video Errors

Last week, several listeners reported buffering problems with Alexander Street Press videos.   Our vendor believes the problem has been fixed.  Some users have reported they can now view their title with no problem.

If you encounter a problem, please do the following: Press the “Esc” key 3 times rapidly and a diagnostic report will pop up, then click on “Refresh session – OK” and wait for a few seconds for the page to refresh and the video to reload. If the problem continues, please email a screen shot of the diagnostic report to library@grcc.edu so librarians can continue to investigate.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused students and faculty.

Wireless Printer Driver Issue Identified

Laptops running Windows 10 and MacBook Pros running the latest iOS do not currently interact with GRCC’s wireless printing driver.  IT is working on this issue.  Until a “driver fix” is available, send  the document (email, download from cloud or flash drive) to a GRCC hard-wired / networked computer and print from there. Help for Wireless Connection

Use the network connection named GRCCWireless
This does not require a WPA Key. Just Connect,
Authenticate, and Go.

1. Turn on your wireless signal. There may be a small
graphic that looks like a radio tower.

2. Connect: Select GRCCWireless from the available wireless networks.

3. Authenticate: Launch your web-browser: Enter Campus Network Login (Novell/Email/Blackboard) and password. You won’t be able to use an expired password.

4. Go: It really is that simple.
