Many users find needed full-text articles while reviewing database results, but sometimes the journal you want is not available in the resource you are using. Have you ever limited your results to [Full-Text] online and lost the “best article”? We recommend that you check [eJournal List] which tells you whether GRCC licenses that desired journal – and in which database that content can be found.
GRCC’s Subject Guides list the top journals in an academic field on a [Periodicals] tab – and often those are the journals that are recommended for use in initial research assignments. But, [eJournal List] goes a step further and provides a list of eJournals specific to a particular field of interest; you can limit to peer-reviewed journals, too.
The GRCC Library was recently featured in the college newspaper, the Collegiate. Check out the article by clicking here. Library Director, Brian Beecher, shares how the space and services provided by the Library and its staff are resources for students – particularly during exam time!
Have you ever arrived at the library ready to get some work done, but quickly realize you have forgotten a key utensil or supply? You no longer have to worry – the GRCC Library now offers “Supply Kits”! The kits are available for checkout at the Circulation desk and include highlighters, pencils, pens, paper clips, a glue stick, a pair of scissors, and index cards.
The Winter Semester has officially begun, and the GRCC Library would like to remind all students (returning, and newbies), as well as faculty and staff, of the many resources and services we can offer you. From research help to library instruction to quiet study, we have got you covered this semester!
Stop by during our open hours to check out our space, resources, or inquire further about ways we can help – we are located at 140 Ransom Ave. NE, in between the Music and ATC buildings, on the main campus.
Our staff is looking forward to providing support for all of your academic needs this semester!
Last semester’s Exam Cram event proved to be beneficial to student attendees, yet again! The event was held here at the Library & Learning Commons and was co-sponsored by the Library, Academic Support and Tutoring, and Student Alliance. Thank you to all who attended and took advantage of the extended study hours, as well as the other services offered during the event, including tutoring. Keep an eye out for information within a couple of months, for this semester’s Exam Cram in April.
Here’s a picture of the refreshment table and some students diligently working away during our extended hours on the Sunday of Fall 2015’s Exam Cram!
