Experience the Dark Skies of Michigan

Rather than the bright lights of <insert your favorite city>, consider a summer jaunt to the Dark Side. In addition to 6 Michigan DNR Dark Sky Reserves, Headlands International Dark Sky Park, near the Straits of Mackinac, is a great place to stargaze without all the usual light pollution.   If you’re interested in astronomy closer to home, check out these local observatories on the Astronomy Subject Guide.

Pure Michigan

Pure Michigan logoWe’ve all seen the Pure Michigan commercials on TV. If you’re like us, those ads make you want to get in a car and drive to the beach, a winery, the Bridge, a Tigers baseball game,  the Falls, “outa town!”  Before you hit the open road, consider combining that Pure Michigan road trip with a Michigan-themed book.  GRCC’s Library has a great selection of Michigan Notable Books – some fiction, non-fiction, and even a few children’s books.  Check them out! Pure Michigan!
