Faculty – this is a great time of year to reserve library computer and study space for you and your students. Here, Professor Andrew Lussky, met with students during his class session, while they found academic resources, deciphered those darn citations, and worked on their writing. Use our online “Research Only” Space Request” if you would like to reserve space and computers in the LLC for your students.
If instead your students would benefit from Information Literacy instruction, use this form and we’ll assign a librarian to work with your students in our 30-laptop classroom.
Contact Nan Schichtel at 616-234-3082 with questions about either.
The Library & Learning Commons has been extra busy – and we love it! In the last two weeks, librarians taught multiple classes simultaneously in the Library, in computer classrooms across campus, and at off-campus locations including: the Thompson Mtec; GVSU Meijer Campus; Midtown; Calvary Laketown; Rockford High School; and, Cedar Springs High School.
Faculty can schedule Information Literacy Instruction or reserve “Research Only” space in the Library using online forms found under the Faculty Resources link on the library webpage.
The Library is a great place for faculty and students to meet and collaborate.
The Reference Librarian on desk duty (here it’s Sophia Brewer) assists researchers with any and all topics students approach us with. We also serve a lot of Ferris State University students taking classes in the ATC.
The Library & Learning Commons has 6 laptops available for GRCC students to checkout out free from the Library Circulation Desk. All laptops work anywhere on campus and can be checked out for 4-hour periods. This is great for taking notes in class, working on assignments, or studying in groups. Each laptop comes with a mouse, power adapter, and computer bag. A second location (Automated Kiosk) with 12 laptops is located in the Student Center (3rd floor by Advising), also with 4-hour checkouts. Laptops must be used on campus and late fees apply. Be sure to bring your RaiderCard (GRCC Student ID).
