If you grew up in West Michigan, chances are you attended the Coast Guard Festival in Grand Haven at least once. The 10-day-long (July 26-Aug. 4)  festival  honors the men and women serving in the US Coast Guard.  There are  loads of events to pique your interest.

While many get their first introduction to the Coast Guard at the Festival, others meet Coasties when they need maritime assistance.  Maybe you should consider  CG service as a career?

For more about the Coast Guard, read Donald Phillips’s Character in Action : The U.S. Coast Guard on Leadership, Naval Institute Press, 2013. Off-campus users should logon with last name and 7-digit Raider number.
